Modified Citrus Pectin (MCP)

Modified Citrus Pectin (MCP) is a super nutraceutrical backed by impressive research.

This amazing substance starts off as pectin, a common soluble fibre found in large quantities in apple skins and the rinds of citrus fruits. Pectin itself has many beneficial qualities, including lowering cholesterol and acting as a bulking agent in the intestines. Because of the large size of pectin molecules, its actions are limited to its activity in the digestive tract.

Now, scientists have learned to modify pectin molecules into smaller less complex ones. The result is modified citrus pectin (MCP). Its molecules are small enough to travel into the bloodstream where they can interact with other cells in the blood or tissues.

Modified Citrus Pectin (MCP) has the extraordinary benefit of protecting against cancer, cancer progression and heart disease. Of all diseases, MCP has been studied most extensively for prostate cancer, one of the most common cancers in men.

MCP has been shown to slow PSA doubling time, to stop the spread of prostate cancer, and to kill prostate cancer cells. It can also lower cholesterol, reduce artherosclerosis, remove heavy metals and environmental toxins from the body and prevent and reduce Alzheimers disease.

To read more on MCP we recommend the booklet on MCP written by Nan Fuchs, a Californian nutritionist, health educator and nutritional editor of the Women’s Health Letter, a popular USA newsletter.
